Studying Music.
My first job in the creative industry was as an assistant director at the Schloss-Theater Moers in Germany. I went on to study music at the ArtEZ Conservatory in the Netherlands. After two years at Artez’s Pop Academy in Enschede, I wanted to dive deeper into a more diverse blend of genres, which led me to the Jazz and Pop Department in Arnhem, where I successfully finished my studies with a bachelor’s degree in music. During my studies, I started working as a singer in various band and duo formations to play at events, weddings, and fairs in Germany and the Netherlands. I also worked at a theater school for kids, where I taught singing lessons and worked on creating and executing the students’s theater performances.
Working as a teacher and independent singer-songwriter in Hamburg.
After my studies, I lived and worked in Hamburg, Germany, where I taught voice, songwriting, and piano lessons at musical schools like the Music Academy Hamburg, the Sänger Academie Hamburg, and the Gymnasium Niendorf. Besides my work as a teacher, I played solo and ensemble shows under my artist name REA, and released my first EP Deep Blue Sea.
Moving to the US.
In 2020, I opened my studio - the Creative Voice Studio, this time in the high desert of New Mexico. My Studio became part of the creative community in Santa Fe and quickly filled up with students whom I guided with their vocal skills and creative growth.
Arriving in Amsterdam.
With the birth of my first child in 2023, my family and I moved to Amsterdam Oost. At the end of 2024, I reopened the Creative Voice Studio, at the Broedplaats De Hellema in Zaandam. I also continue to make music as an independent artist.
My drive.
I’m a curious artist and eager to keep educating myself on topics encompassing musical performance, creativity, and art. I completed my latest course in arranging contemporary music at the Berklee College of Music in 2021. In 2017, 2019, and 2023, I was awarded an artist residency at the Arteles Residency in Haukijärvi, Finland, where I worked on songwriting, arranging music, researching creative practices, and connecting visual arts with music.
